Published: Mar 8, 2026

PicTomo's Smart Recommendations feature automatically analyzes photos in your album to find popular ones. This article explains how to use it.

What Are Smart Recommendations?

Smart Recommendations analyzes photo characteristics automatically and predicts likability (popularity). It finds photos that are likely to receive lots of likes.

Understanding Star Grouping

When you turn on recommendations, photos are grouped into 4 tiers:

  • ★★★ Popular Photos — Photos predicted to be especially popular
  • ★★ Recommended — Highly recommended photos
  • — Moderately rated photos
  • Others — All other photos

How to Toggle ON/OFF

Simply tap the recommendations button (sparkles icon) in the action bar at the top of the album page. When ON, the button turns amber; when OFF, it turns gray. Your preference is saved in the browser and persists across visits.

When It's Useful

  • Quickly finding the best shots among many photos
  • Checking everyone's favorite photos after an event
  • When there are too many photos, start by viewing only ★★★ photos
  • Finding standout photos to share on social media

Use Smart Recommendations to easily discover popular photos among hundreds of shots.
